Ola Initiative Workshop

Join us for this one-of-a-kind workshop on the topic of underrepresented women of color in the technology industry & self-care. After this workshop, you will be able to examine your current habits & determine ways to change your lifestyle to develop a better work-life balance. The workshop will be facilitated by Vanessa Mason, Founder of Riveted Partners  and our founder, Elen Awalom. 

Ms. Mason has over 10 years of experience  in health care innovation and consumer engagement in both the United States and developing countries. Vanessa earned her BA in psychology from Yale University and her MPH in global health from Columbia University. She also serves on the Health IT advisory board for Transdisciplinary Collaborative Center (TCC) for Health Disparities Research at Morehouse School of Medicine and on the board of directors for Mind Body Awareness Project, an Oakland-based nonprofit that supports at-risk youth though mindfulness meditation education.

Ms. Awalom is a certified Reiki Master who has also studied massage therapy, Kriya breathing techniques & meditation. She was previously the cofounder of multiple start-ups including The Lighthouse, a company focused on the intersections of visual art & holistic wellness. Elen also worked for several years in healthcare ethics & administration at prestigious institutions including NIH & Georgetown University Hospital. She is a passionate wellness devotee who leads a paleo lifestyle, practices hot yoga and meditates daily.
